You will plan, monitor, analyse and control the Critical Quality Indices and Key Cost Drivers of
different units of Smelter operation. In addition, provide analytical support on a day to day basis
to the Smelter & Power operations related to raw materials, process control, environment aspects and
non routine samples in order to ensure a continuous process improvement philosophy and maintain
EMAL’s competitive edge in the aluminium industry.Your duties will also include:•Responsible in
setting of departmental objectives in accordance with the overall corporate goals and
strategies.•Coordinate day to day activities of the Technical Laboratory to ensure consistent
quality of products including incoming raw materials and chemical composition of process materials &
finished products.•Assist in providing cost effective and efficient physical and chemical analysis
service to enable production areas to optimize their production processes and quality of products
produced.•Train and monitor the development of all laboratory staff especially national employees
to ensure they are competent to carry out their required duties.•Contribute to the successful
resolution of customer complaints by providing accurate and timely analysis of samples of products
returned or any other investigative work required to meet customer requirements.•Encourage plant /
process improvement initiatives.•Ensure operating budget controls are in place to achieve cost
effective results•Ensure that all safety & environmental controls, and operational procedures are
adhered to, in order to minimize the risk of accidents and to maintain discipline in line with the
management policiesYou offer the following education and experience:BSc / MSc in Chemistry or Degree
in Chemical Engineering Understanding/working knowledge (7~10years) of the laboratory, preferably in
an aluminium smelting industry in a similar capacity.Good knowledge of ISO – safety, quality and
environment systems.Good interpersonal skills, good computer application skills.7 - 17 yearsBasic -
Bachelor of Science ( Chemistry ) , Bachelor of Technology/Engineering ( Chemical , Mechanical )
