B. REPORTINGThe Personal Tutor reports to the Service Manager.C. RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure that the
students learn English following the EOL Plus Multimethod, Premier English Multimethod and Business
On Line Multimethod. Help the students reach the level of fluency and comprehension established in
their objective.Create the appropriate atmosphere for the student to learn, knowing what to do to
improve and being aware of his/her progress.D. SPECIFIC TASKSSTUDENT DISKETTES 1: The Personal Tutor
must initialize the student diskette in the appropriate program (EOL+, Premier or BOL) every time a
student requires one (New Student, Change of Level, Damaged Diskettes).STUDENT DISKETTES 2: The
Personal Tutor must generate the initialized student diskette in SDS every time a student is given a
new diskette.DISKETTE LABELS: The Personal Tutor must print a diskette label every time a new
diskette is given to the Student.FIRST LESSONS: The Personal Tutor is responsible for preparing,
conducting and notifying (the Service Manager of any problems) the First Lessons scheduled for
him/her.SECOND LESSONS: The Personal Tutor is responsible for conducting and notifying (the Service
Manager of any problems) the Second Lessons that occur when s/he is on shift.NEW STUDENT FOLLOW-UP:
The Personal Tutor is responsible for the specific follow-up required by New Students.STUDENT
FOLLOW-UP: The Personal Tutor is responsible for the follow-up assigned to him/her by the Service
Manager.STUDENT ASSISTANCE: It is the Personal Tutor’s responsibility to approach and assist all
students when they attend the Speaking Center regardless of the students’ learning ability,
status, payment means or any other criteria. It is also the Personal Tutor’s duty to ensure the
students learn following the Method as explained in the documentation.In the case of a student that
presents specific problems or concerns, the Personal Tutor must inform the Service Manager.SPEAKING
CENTER 1: The Personal Tutor is responsible to inform the Service Manager of any incident that may
have a negative effect upon the students’ learning in the Speaking Center.SPEAKING CENTER 2: The
Personal Tutor is responsible for the maintenance of the equipment in the Speaking Center, i.e., the
Computers, Headphones, Printers, Furniture. It is also the Personal Tutor’s duty to regularly
clean the Headphones (daily) with a suitable cleaner.SPEAKING CENTER 3: The Personal Tutor is
responsible for the clean and tidy appearance of the Speaking Center. In particular, all chairs must
be kept under the cabins, all Headphones must be placed neatly at each cabin, any scraps of paper
found at the cabins must be thrown away, and all public spaces be kept clear of boxes, papers,
rubbish or anything else that may impede the students’ use of the Speaking Center.EDUCATIONAL
MATERIAL: It is the Personal Tutor’s responsibility to maintain the stock of Educational Material
(Student Manuals, Diskettes and CD-ROMS) and regularly inform the Service Manager of the amount held
in the center.RECEPTION: The Personal Tutor may on occasion be requested to work in Reception. If
so, s/he must follow the guidelines on the Receptionist’s responsibilities.ACTIVITIES: The
Personal Tutor may be requested to teach certain activities in the Center, namely, Survival
Complementary Classes and Social Club Activities. If so, the Personal Tutor is expected to only use
the official WSI material provided and to prepare the activity accordingly.SDS: The Personal Tutor
is expected to use the Service Data Software program on a daily basis, particularly for:- Checking
the student information on the Student Data Card, Student Progress Profile and Student Study
Report.- Generating the students’ diskettes.- Reserving activities.- Entering the results of all
activities given by that Personal Tutor.- Recording all Follow-Up.E. EVALUATIONFIRST YEAR:
Individual evaluation carried out before the end of the probation period (of contract) and then
every 6 months with the Service Manager. The Staff Self-Evaluation form (found in Annexes) is to be
used. Copies are kept by both Center and Personal Tutor.VETERAN STAFF: Individual evaluations are
carried out twice a year with the Service Manager using the Staff Self-Evaluation form (found in
Annexes). Copies are kept by both Center and Personal Tutor.F. OBSERVATIONSThe Personal Tutor can
expect to be observed (normally by the Service Manager) while s/he gives First or Second Lessons as
well as working in the Speaking Center. THE Observation forms used can be found in the Annexes. The
Personal Tutor may or may not receive advance warning of any observation.NEW: A new Personal Tutor
will be observed monthly during the first quarter, then quarterly for remainder of year, to give a
total of 6 observations as a minimum.VETERAN: A veteran Personal Tutor will be observed quarterly as
a minimum, to give a total of 4 per year.G. MEETINGSThe Personal Tutor will be expected to attend
regular staff meetings with the Service Manager and/or Director to discuss the Speaking Center,
Student Follow-Up, and other relevant business.1. Excellent level of the language of country.2.
Excellent level of English (Mastery 2)3. Well organized.4. Communicative, outgoing, energetic and
enthusiastic.5. Motivated self-starter who can work effectively with minimum supervision.6. Computer
literate.PERSONAL TUTOR: BASIC QUALITY STANDARDSBe punctual and finish First Lessons at the correct
time.Talk to students politely, using the appropriate language.To always use English when talking to
students and other members of staff in the public areas of the Center. The only exception is when a
First Lesson is to be given to students who are in levels inferior to Upper Waystage.Take an
interest in the progress of the student and in his/her level of satisfaction in general.Carry out a
follow-up of the student based on the information given on the Student Progress Profile.Always read
and note down positive ideas regarding the progress made, the pace of studies, difficulties, and
needs.Approach and speak to all the students at least once whilst in the Speaking Center.To be
always available in the Speaking Center to help or answer students’ questions.S/he must be fully
aware of the characteristics and advantages of the EOL Plus, Premier English Method and B.O.L., in
addition to the WSI system.Comply with the general standards regarding dress, image and customer
relations of the company.1 - 6 yearsBasic - Bachelor of Arts ( Arabic , Communication )
