Job Purpose:
The Youth and Education Specialist will provide support to all program, technical,

and partnership staff, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in issues related to youth

development and primary and secondary education. The Specialist will provide the technical

expertise necessary in the education/youth development sector to inform ROTA’s work on program

design, program implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. S/he will provide training to ROTA

staff and partners on education and youth development issues. The specialist will also contribute

to advocacy and strategic planning efforts.
Key Result Areas
 Identify staff

and partner training needs in the area of education and youth development; develop and implement

trainings to address these needs.
 Provide regular consultation to program, technical support,

and partnership development staff on issues related to education and youth

development.
 Participate in field trips to monitor and assess ROTA youth and education

programs.
 Develop curricula and materials in support of education and youth engagement programs

that can be branded as ROTA packages and that make a unique contribution to work on education in

crisis and youth engagement activities.
 Contribute to technical expertise to ROTA research and

advocacy efforts.
 Assist in the development and start-up of new program initiatives.
